Western Power is Australia's only fully integrated transmission and distribution business. It evolved from Western Power Corporation after it was separated into four independent businesses on 31 March 2006 to encourage competition in the generation and retail ends of the Western Australian electricity market. Department of Electrical Services
The Department of Electrical Services (DES), under the auspices of the Minister of Energy of the Prime Minister’s Office, is the government authority mandated to look after and to be responsible for the operation and development of the electricity sector.

As a utility, DES is responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity to the end-users.

As a service provider, DES is responsible to set standards for the implementation of electricity usage in public buildings, as well as overseeing their overall electro-mechanical maintenance.

Ever Power IPP Co., Ltd (EPIC)
Ever Power IPP Co., Ltd. (EPIC) is an unlisted Private Company that owns and administers the Hai-Fu Power Station located on the shores of the Taiwan Strait approximately 30km west of Taipei. EPIC has 2 major shareholders including Jack Wang Motor and Marubeni Corporation.

EPIC is one of the first Independent Power Producer in Taiwan; it is the first IPP to use Natural Gas to produce electricity in Taiwan, using the Combined-cycle Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines. As an IPP EPIC has a 25 year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) to supply 2 x 450MW of energy for varying daily periods for a total of more than 4,000 operating hours per year.

In order to supply electricity under the PPA EPIC has signed a Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) with Chinese Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to supply approximately 600,000,000m3 of Natural Gas per year from their LNG terminal. The LNG is imported from Indonesia, Malaysia, Qatar and other countries.

EPIC achieved Commercial Operations in 2000.

   
Kuo Kuang Power Company Ltd.
Kuo Kuang Power Company (KKPC) was established in August 2000 and is as a joint venture between the state-owned CPC Corporation, the Meiya Power Company Ltd and the Kansai Power Intl. Corp. (KPIC Netherlands B.V.).

KKPC owns the Kuo Kuang Combined Cycle Power Plant (KKCCPP), which is located in Tao Yuan County, Taiwan approximately 20 km southwest of Taipei.

The plant is operated as an intermediate load station and KKPC has a long-term power purchase agreement with Taiwan Power Company (TPC).

The installed capacity of KKCCPP is 480MW. The Plant is fueled by NG using a high efficiency turbine design from Siemens. Power is transmitted at 345kV to TPC.

Since commercial operation in 2003, KKPC has been focusing on safe and reliable operation, full commitment to our EHS standards and continuous plant efficiency improvement. We are proud to announce that KKPC is one of the best performing and Environmental, Health and Safety conscious Independent Power Producer (IPP).

NDPL has been the frontrunner in implementing power distribution reforms in the capital city and is acknowledged for its consumer friendly practices. The Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) is a statutory body formed on 1-2-1959 under the Electricity Supply Act.1948. Subsequently with the re-organization of the erstwhile State of Punjab under the Punjab Re-organization Act 1966 the present form came into existence w.e.f. 1st May 1967.

Starting with the modest installed capacity of 62 MW, the PSEB has grown up by leaps and bounds with generating capacity 6201 MW as on 31-3-2007. The Board's gross generation during the year 2006-07 was 36412.055 MUs.
PSEB operates its own Generation Power Plants and also gets power as its share from BBMB. It also gets power as per allocation from the Central Sector Power Projects. The PSEB also constructs and maintains its Transmission and Distribution system for providing efficient services to the various categories of electricity consumers in the state.

Though the welnit network of Transmission and Distribution System, PSEB is proud of serving more than 62.31 lacs consumers comprising of approximate 51.49 lakhs General, 1.09 lakhs Industrial, 9.7 lakhs Agricultural connections.

Based on the year of 2007, the PLN’s system consisted of 24,950 MW of generation capacity, 89,700 kilometres of transmission lines, and 800,000 distribution lines. PLN operates the system transmission in several voltage levels, i.e. 500 kV, 275 kV, 150 kV, and 70 kV. The distribution voltages are 20, 12, and 6 kV. The fuel mixed of the generation consist of 33.5 % of oil, 40.9 % of coal, 2.8 % of geothermal, 14.6 % of natural gas, and 8.2 % of hydro. In 2007, PLN produced 140.2 TWh of electricity while the consumption by the end-users was 125.7 TWh. The average electricity demand growth for the next ten years was predicted around 7 % per year.

In order to meet the electricity demand in 2010, PLN planned to complete the construction of nearly 10,000 MW of coal fired power plant.
PT PLN (Persero) has more than 47,492 core staff, an asset base of nearly US$ 30 billion and services nearly 37 million customers, among other, 34 million residential customers. The electricity ratio of the country is around 60%.

Shares of China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. were successfully issued in Oct. 2003 and listed on the A-share market of the Shanghai Exchange on Nov. 18th, 2003.

The state owned institution, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is the national power utility. CEB is responsible for power generation, transmission and for distribution in major portion of the country. Whilst CEB is the sole authority in Transmission, with limited private sector participation in power generation CEB still remains the major generation contributor with the blessings of main indigenous energy source of electricity, Hydro power. The Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO is the first independent power producer in Thailand. Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited (RATCH), a leading investment company in power generation business, was founded on March 7, 2000, following cabinet’s approval on November 30, 1999. The cabinet has approved the fund mobilization plan for Ratchaburi power plant project through the initial public offering of 580 million common shares of the Company that had been succeeded on October 2000.

Currently, the Company is a listed company and being registered on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) using the stock symbol as “RATCH”. The Company’s major shareholder is the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), holding 45 percent of the Company.

At present, the Company has a total installed capacity of 3,995 MW, deriving from its current commercial operating power plants. Moreover, the Company has many ongoing projects both in local and overseas, which can enhance its total installed capacity to 4,500.50 MW in the near future.

Phu My 3 BOT Power Co. Ltd.

Phu My 3 BOT Power Co. Ltd. is the first foreign-invested BOT (Built-Operate-Transfer) Power Project in Vietnam. The US$ 450 million power plant, equally invested by BP Holdings B.V. (Netherlands), SembCorp Utilities Corp. (Singapore), Kyushu Electrics Corp. and Sojitz Corp. (Japan), uses combined cycle gas turbine technology with designed capacity of 716.8 MW. Based in Phu My 1 Industrial Zone – Tan Thanh District – Ba Ria Vung Tau province, Phu My 3 Power Plant is constructed by Siemens AG (Germany) and fueled by Nam Con Son Gas Pipelines, an affiliate of BP Vietnam. Since its commercial operation in Jan 2004, Phu My 3 Power Plant has supplied about 10% of the whole nationwide power generation in Vietnam under the Power Purchase Agreement with Vietnam Electricity Corp. (EVN).

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is a state-owned corporation that operates in the areas of generation, transmission, distribution and sales of electric power.

By the end of 2005, EVN had 23 large and medium-sized power plants, dozens of small diesel and mini hydro stations. Total installed capacity was 8.822 MW. 2005's generation was 52.050 GWh in which hydro electricity is approximately 31%, coal-fired power generation is 15.60%, oil-fired power generation is 1.3%, gas-turbine power generation contributes 31.14% and diesel power generation and IPP share 21% of generation mix. There are currently seven companies that sell electricity to the customers. Three of them are regional ones (Power Company Nos: 1,2,3) and the other four are of cities (Hanoi's Power Company, HoChiMinh's power Company, HaiPhong's Power Company and Dong Nai's Power Company).

Beside the core business of production and sale of electric power, EVN's other businesses are also significant. There are five entities that function as consulting arms for EVN, namely: the Institute of Energy and Power Consulting Companies Nos 1, 2, 3, 4. Consulting services provided include designing of Master Plans for the Power Sector's development, planning for the development of regional network and consulting services for EVN's clients, such as survey, investigation, design and construction supervision for different power projects (hydro, thermal, gas-turbine, diesel power plants and power lines of up to 500kV).
